Ingredients
  

Taco Filling
  • 3 pounds ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup water
Toppings
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup sliced jalapeños optional
  • 1 cup salsa optional
Base
  • 20 bags tortilla chips individual bags

Method
 

Prepare the Taco Filling
  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
  2. Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and water. Stir to combine.
  3. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Set Up Toppings
  1. While the meat is cooking, prepare the toppings by chopping lettuce, tomatoes, and setting out cheese, sour cream, jalapeños, and salsa in serving bowls.
Assemble Walking Tacos
  1. To serve, each guest opens a bag of tortilla chips and adds a scoop of the taco filling.
  2. Top with desired toppings and enjoy directly from the bag.
