Ingredients
  

Cake Batter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk room temperature
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method
 

Prepare the Batter
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
Bake the Cakes
  1. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cakes are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
