Prepare the Cream Cheese Spread
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, lemon juice, fresh dill, and black pepper until smooth.
Assemble the Sandwich
- Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer smoked salmon, capers, and red onion on four of the slices.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, cream cheese side down.
Serve
- Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
