Method
Make the Cupcake Batter
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Bake the Cupcakes
- Fill a cupcake pan with cupcake liners and pour the batter into each liner, filling them about 2/3 full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract, until smooth and fluffy.
- If desired, add food coloring to achieve the desired color.

- Once the cupcakes are completely cool, use a piping bag to frost the top of each cupcake.
- Arrange the frosted cupcakes in a circle or desired shape on a serving platter to create a cake-like appearance.
- Decorate with sprinkles and candies on top.
