Ingredients
  

Cupcake Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Frosting
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • food coloring optional for decoration
Decorations
  • 1 cup sprinkles for topping
  • 1 cup candies for decoration

Method
 

Make the Cupcake Batter
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Bake the Cupcakes
  1. Fill a cupcake pan with cupcake liners and pour the batter into each liner, filling them about 2/3 full.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Prepare the Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract, until smooth and fluffy.
  2. If desired, add food coloring to achieve the desired color.
Assemble the Cake
  1. Once the cupcakes are completely cool, use a piping bag to frost the top of each cupcake.
  2. Arrange the frosted cupcakes in a circle or desired shape on a serving platter to create a cake-like appearance.
  3. Decorate with sprinkles and candies on top.
