  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Cake Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter, eggs, crushed pineapple, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. Once the cake is completely cooled, frost the top and sides with the cream cheese frosting.
