Ingredients
  

Cake
  • 1 box lemon cake mix any brand
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
Frosting
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the lemon cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the Frosting
  1. In a bowl, beat together the powdered sugar, softened butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth.
  2. Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top.

Notes
