Frosting Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest fresh
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

Prepare the Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until creamy.
  2. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined.
  3. Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat on medium speed until the frosting is fluffy and smooth.
  4. If the frosting is too thick, add a little more lemon juice or milk to reach desired consistency.
