Preparation
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place a slice of cheese between two slices of bread, buttered sides out.
Cooking
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the sandwich and cook the other side until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.

Notes
For a twist, add tomatoes or bacon inside the sandwich before grilling.
