  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Peanut Butter Frosting
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter high-quality
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter softened
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

Method
 

Baking the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your cake pans by greasing them with butter and dusting with flour.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cream together the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture gradually, alternating with milk.
  7. Pour the batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cakes in their pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Making the Frosting
  1. In a bowl, beat together creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, softened butter, and heavy cream until smooth.
