Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
Flautas
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
Toppings
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and lime juice. Mix well.
Assemble the Flautas
  1. Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet over medium heat until pliable.
  2. Place about 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture in the center of each tortilla and roll tightly.
Fry the Flautas
  1. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Carefully add the rolled flautas to the hot oil, seam side down, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Serve
  1. Serve hot with sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and shredded lettuce on the side.

Notes
