Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 400 grams Spaghetti use high-quality dried spaghetti
  • 1 pinch Salt for boiling water
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil extra virgin
  • 3 cloves Garlic fresh minced
  • 800 grams Crushed tomatoes preferably San Marzano
  • 1 bunch Basil fresh leaves
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese freshly grated
For Serving
  • to taste Black pepper freshly cracked
  • to taste Chili flakes optional for extra kick

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
  2. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente.
Preparing the Sauce
  1. In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant and golden, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Stir in crushed tomatoes and season with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Let simmer for about 15 minutes.
Combining and Serving
  1. Drain the spaghetti, reserving a cup of pasta water. Toss the spaghetti with the sauce, adding reserved water as needed.
  2. Plate your spaghetti and garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and basil leaves.
